- What airport do I fly into? Fly into Guatemala City, Guatemala. The code is GUA. It is about a 3 hour taxi or shuttle ride to San Marcos from the Airport.
- What are the exact costs for the course?
The Guatemala tuition is $2,000.
Extra costs are room and food. This could be as little as $20/day. Probably $30/day is good to budget. There are lots of little hotels and restaurants in the village, all walking distance to the program. People can choose where they want to stay according to their needs and their budget.
Also allow around $100 for books/ materials for the course.
Transportation to the program is another cost and depends on where you are coming from.
Room, board and food in San Marco are abundant, yet very affordable. Typically, room ranges from $3, camping at the lake, $5-$10 a night at local hostel with shared hot shower and kitchen, or $20 to $50 a night at middle to high end hostel or hotel. Food are very surprisingly good, three organic vegetarian restaurants, a Japanese, a few infusion restaurants, and other locals restaurants, costs ranging from $3-$7 a meal, very good meal. Depending upon your budget you can choose what fits you. Amanda will be another instructor for the course, now live in San Marco, supervising our Mystical Yoga Farm project. Transportation to San Marcos
There are three ways to get from Guatemala City Airport to San Marcos La Laguna, Lago Atitlan:
Option 1) The easiest way is to book a taxi in advance: San Nicolas Travel Agency sannicolastravel@yahoo.com.mx 502-41450403
Option 2) You can also take taxi directly (no reservation needed) from the airport to Panajachel (also called ‘Pana’). From there you can take a public boat to Santiago.
Option 3) Take local bus from the airport to Antigua, then another bus from Antigua to Pana., and finally a boat from Pana to Santiago.
