Schoolyoga Institute (SYI) is a teacher training organization and a registered yoga school at the 200-hour and 500-hour levels with Yoga Alliance. We have been offering yoga teacher training courses (YTTC) at the sacred sites around the globe such as: Tibet, Holy Buddhist Mountain Emei in China, Lake Titicaca in Bolivia, Sacred Valley in Peru, Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua, Mount Shasta, and in California and New Hampshire since 2002. The soul of SYI is to spread the beauty and wisdom of yoga we have experienced and channeled to us to those who are inspired to do the same. The intention of YTTC is to have the inspired yoga teachers experience all aspects of the ancient yoga wisdom, first becoming a yoga practitioner, and then becoming a yoga teacher derived directly from their own personal experiences.

Intended Audience (This is 200 hours level YTTC)

• For those who are inspired to become a yoga practitioner and share their love and experiences of yoga wisdom with others.
• For those who are interested in becoming a teaching member of our global family and obtain an internationally recognized yoga teacher certification from SYI and a Registered Yoga Teacher at 200 level (RYT 200).
• For those who have desire to become a mythical yoga teacher or even a facilitator of global yoga teacher training programs in the future.

The training is a 200-hour certification course for yogins interested in expanding their own practice or teaching yoga.  The course is suitable for students of all levels and abilities.  Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive level 3 yoga teacher certification through the SchoolYoga Institute and will meet the requirements for Yoga Alliance RYT-200 registration.  The SchoolYoga Institute is a registered yoga school at the 200 and 500 hour level. 

This yoga teacher training course is theoretical and experiential based. Trainees are advised to live in the yogic lifestyle for entire training and beyond and to experience all paths of yoga such as Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bakti Yoga, and Juana Yoga leading to a complete embodiment of virtues, strength, balance, serenity, peace, joy, happiness, contentment, and wisdom.

The Training Has Two Parts

This is a community service based program. The cost is dependent upon the capability of each individual. We never turn away those who are inspired to become a yoga practitioner and teacher.

Part 1: September 14th, 2010 to December 8th, 2010 Every Wednesday 4:00-9:00 pm

September 15 - December 8, Every Wednesday from 4:00-9:00 PM
October 9, Saturday, Yoga Day Trip to San Francisco (7am-10pm)
November 6, Saturday, Yoga Day Trip to Yosemite (7am-10pm)
Cost of $950 - $1500

All students required to participate in two classes and observe a class at the studio.
Each student will receive a Teacher Training Manual at the beginning of the program.

Typical Daily Schedule Part 1:

  Wednesdays Evenings:
    4:00-5:00 Workshop and Lecture (Kriya, Pranayama, Meditation, Philosophy)
    6:00-8:00 Yoga Asana (Hatha and Vinyasa)
    8:00-9:00 Yoga Anatomy with Derek Marks or Yoga Sutras with Dennis Hill

Part 2: Mt. Shasta Graduation Retreat  December 9th, 2009 to December 12th, 2010
Cost of $450-$700

Important: A $200 deposit is needed to reserve a spot

The final 6-day training will allow us to immerse ourselves into yoga and dive deep into our personal practice.  We will get hands on experience and soak in a tremendous amount of information that we can assimilate over the months when we return.
